It Takes a…Bible Camp (and YOU)

December 2024

As a parent, and these days a grandparent, it can’t be overstated how much we all want our children to learn & grow and to be strong, independent, amazing people. As I reflect on my own children growing up, one thing that greatly influenced their process was adults, other than parents, who loved them for who they were. I remember many years ago talking to my oldest son Joshua who was very emotional after his week at camp was done. It was obvious that Rich, his counselor, had made an enormous impact on him. I know that Rich continued to pray for Joshua and encouraged him for many years to come. The bond that camp counselors can make with campers in just a single week’s time is extraordinary! Counselors like Rich, Jesse, Brian, Asta, Becca, Katie…they point our campers to a source of foundation & guidance that literally changes their lives and the lives of those around them. I know our children are surrounded every day by things that influence them for both good and bad. We have all heard the popular saying “It Takes a Village to Raise a Child” and in a world that is ever growing smaller and more connected, I urge everyone to find, utilize, and support the places and pieces of that village that give our children the strongest foundations. I think Lake Waubesa Bible Camp is one of those places.

Lake Waubesa Bible Camp is ALL IN on “Creating opportunities for life change through the love of Jesus Christ.” The foundations laid here at LWBC through Biblical teaching, amazing camp staff, counselors and every aspect of our programs are designed to build strong foundations in Jesus Christ. For 80 years now, LWBC has served faithfully to support and strengthen campers, families, and churches & share the Good News of Jesus Christ. I personally have been serving at LWBC since 1988 and have had the blessing & privilege of seeing second and third generations of campers. LWBC serves thousands of people all year round! As LWBC looks forward to 2025, we need people to invest in keeping our programs funded, our buildings maintained, and our dreams of serving into the future secure. In this season of giving, LWBC is setting a fundraising goal of $75,000. Please invest in the lives of our campers as LWBC points to the one true foundation.

We are thankful for those of you who partner with LWBC to make these things happen. We are asking that you prayerfully consider and year-end gift to help us continue Creating Opportunities for Life Change through the Love of Christ. Please keep us on your prayer list too!
