“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.”
Romans 8:28
Dear Friends, I want to tell you a story about this past summer. After nearly 40 years at Lake Waubesa Bible Camp, some days leave you wondering if you are accomplishing anything or just taking two steps forward and three backward! I must often remind myself that it is the things that God accomplishes that are eternal, not the number of meals cooked, dishes washed, appliances fixed, lawns mowed (you get the point).
I have the amazing privilege of seeing many campers come year after year to camp. I enjoy watching them grow and we have even had some third-generation campers attend in the past few years. That certainly makes me feel old! I hear from many parents that their campers look forward to LWBC as the best part of their year! I am truly honored and humbled as campers find a place to feel wholeheartedly welcomed and loved!
When a camper attends camp, they hear the GOOD NEWS about Jesus’ love and His sacrifice for them. Personally, I crave instant results, and know our summer staff are thrilled when campers give their hearts to Jesus at camp. However, we pray that the Spirit works in their lives and rely on His Word that He does! This is the story; one camper has been attending LWBC for several years and we know her well. She has heard the Gospel mulitple times and in many ways. During her week of camp in the summer of 2025, she gave her life to Jesus!!!
Her recollection ws that she just hadn’t be ready earlier. Our joy is that she had grown over the years in her knowledge and understanding of Jesus’ lvoe and 2025 was the time she was truly ready for a relationship with HIM. She also blessed fellow campers and staff by praying for them during an evening of worship at camp. God’s timing is always perfect, and I learn again that what we do at LWBC has eternal results, even when we don’t see them. God is good–all the time!
This is our ask: won’t you partner with us as we continue to speak love to our campers and guests? I know that God’s word and the kindness of God’s love through deeds are a powerful witness and that as you partner with us, God makes Lake Waubesa Bible Camp an effective tool in communicating His love. We are asking God to provide $100,000 over the next fw months to accomplish many things, but most of all to “Create Opportunities for Life Change through the Love of Christ.” Please pray, please give & thank you so much for being part of our family! Blessings on you and your families in this joyous season as we celebrate God’s gift to us all in the person of Jesus Christ!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
