Lake Waubesa Bible Camp

Coronavirus Update

Update as of May 19, 2020

Dear Campers, Families & Friends,

This is a difficult letter to write.  We have all experienced unique and challenging circumstances during this pandemic.  At Lake Waubesa Bible Camp we have been praying and preparing for a summer of ministry. Our summer staffers arrive June 4th.  Our commitment to excellence and safety for all as well as our trust in God and His leading have driven the decisions for June 14-July 10 programming outlined in this letter.  For the safety of our campers, staff and the community, we are taking direction for operational practices from the county, state and national experts as well as camp-specific guidance from the American Camping Association. We don’t believe we can fulfill our mission to provide the amazing camp experience our campers expect and love at LWBC under the current Dane County restrictions and the best operational guidelines available. We are aiming to do as much summer ministry as possible, while still ensuring that our campers and staff are safe, cooperating with governing authorities, and providing programming consistent with our values and commitment to excellence.

The hard news—We are cancelling our on-site Voyager Weeks of overnight camp as well as Day Camp Week 1.  This includes camps for the weeks of June 14-21; June 22-29; June 30-July 4; July 6-10. (Please note: Due to its small group size, High School Adventure Trip is still proceeding at this time.)

The good news—We are planning some alternative programming options for this age group of campers. We will be offering the following:

Camp in a Box– Five days of at-home camp programming—video chapels including songs; crafts; activities; and other fun stuff. T-shirt and supplies included.  Order yours by email at or by phone 608-838-3335.

Drive-in Chapel– Wednesday evenings: June 17, June 24, July 1. Fun camp music, skit and engaging message all from the comfort of your own car.

Family Camp Experience—Partner with a trained staff member and safely explore camp activities that don’t fit in a box.  For single household units by reservation only.

For these programs and others,

The financial news—As we promised from the start of the pandemic, all registration and camp fees are refundable.  All t-shirt fees will also be refunded. (An LWBC t-shirt is available for purchase through our Camp in a Box program.) Refunds will be processed manually and we ask that you contact camp via email or by phone to start the process. Refunds will be issued by mail via check by June 8th.  Please read the information below to consider your options to meet your needs and protect Lake Waubesa Bible Camp’s future.

Like so many businesses and organizations, the pandemic has and will continue to have a great impact on LWBC’s financial health. We continue to take steps to provide for staff, reduce expenses and ensure LWBC summer camp’s will be part of your child’s life for years to come. We are asking each family to consider a financial investment in camp if it would not cause undue hardship to your family. A generous donor has offered to match all camp family donations up to $10,000 total. Your gift to camp will be doubled!  No matter your choice, we so appreciate the trust you showed in LWBC by registering for summer camp. We value you.

  • Total refund of all fees paid including registration fee.

  • Apply fees paid to Camp in a Box order and then convert any additional monies to a refund or a tax-deductible donation.

  • Partial refund of fees paid. You determine what portion of fees paid you would like to convert to a tax-deductible donation to LWBC to maintain its ministry. Remaining monies will be refunded.

  • Total donation of fees paid including registration fee.

LWBC will still be doing ministry this summer. Continue to follow us on Facebook and Instagram as well as check our website for updates on programs and other opportunities.

Please call or email if we can answer any questions or help your family in some way. We are praying for all camp families! We look forward to hearing from you.

Update as of April 1, 2020

We continue to plan and prepare for a summer of camp. We are reading, watching, and participating in online discussions related to doing camp given the current circumstances. We wanted to assure all campers and families that full refunds will be available for any camp programs that we need to cancel. Please continue to register for summer camps to help us with our planning.

We continue to prioritize the health and well-being of all.  Adherence to the mandates and recommendations of the authorities and experts is important to us.  In light of both priorities, all events requiring person-to-person contact are cancelled through April 30th.

We stand ready to help you in any way we can.  Please contact us at  with any questions or requests.

Update as of March 18, 2020

We prioritize the health and well-being of our campers, guests, staff, and volunteers. In light of the current County, State, and Federal recommendations and mandates, we are cancelling all “in person” ministries, events, and outside groups until April 12th.  We will continue to evaluate programming and adjust as the situation and recommendations dictate. Updates will be issued as the situation warrants.

We are committed to keeping Lake Waubesa Bible Camp a safe and valuable resource for campers, families, and groups. We continue to listen to the experts and follow the authorities’ recommendations and requirements concerning group gatherings, cleaning/sanitizing protocol, and social distancing measures.

Follow us on Facebook to take advantage of “distance ministry” opportunities for you and your family.

We continue to plan and prepare for an amazing summer of ministry. We know many are looking forward to a great week of camp after a season of quarantine and social distancing. We are planning on it too! We are trusting God who knows the future and preparing to be ready when “in person” ministry can begin again.
We stand ready to help you in any way we can.  Please contact us at  if we can help in any way.
